This is a pattern overview, not a complete tutorial, so you will not find row-by-row instructions here. The design comes from K.A.M.E. Crochet and appears on Ravelry as Elloth Bunting, a decorative garland project built from textured crochet triangles. For the full step-by-step instructions, photo tutorial and print-friendly version, follow the Original designer’s pattern and instructions.

Elloth Bunting celebrates the arrival of spring with a cheerful strand of textured triangles. The designer calls it a really quick and super easy make, and the listed difficulty is Advanced Beginner, so confident newcomers can enjoy it. The motif grows out of the designer’s Elloth Granny Square, itself a free pattern. The pattern is written in US crochet terms, and no chart or diagram is provided.

Getting started is straightforward. The pattern is offered as a free Ravelry download. A photo tutorial appears exclusively on the K.A.M.E. Crochet blog, and a print-friendly version can also be downloaded from the designer’s Ravelry store at no cost. Because this article is an overview, work every stitch from the original designer materials rather than from the summary here.

The finished piece suits a wall, mantel or party table. The completed bunting measures 56” / 142 cm long, and each triangle measures 5.5 x 5.5 x 5.5” (14 x 14 x 14 cm). Knowing the length in advance makes it easy to choose a hanging spot before you pick up your hook.

Each motif is a textured triangle that echoes the designer’s Elloth Granny Square. Worked individually and then assembled into a garland, the triangles create a light, festive strand for spring decorating. Exact rounds, stitch placement and assembly steps live in the original pattern, so follow the designer’s own instructions for every part of the make.

Gather everything before you begin. The complete checklist from the source is:

  • 4 mm (G) hook; the sample shown was made with a Clover Amour hook.
  • Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6, a sport weight 100% cotton yarn (115 yards / 50 grams), in seven shades: Pastel Yellow-23 (C1) at 12 grams (25.2 metres/27.5 yards); White-001 (C2) at 20 grams (42 metres/46 yards); and Apricot-065 (C3), Pastel Mint-025 (C4), Pastel Pink-042 (C5), Wisteria-094 (C6) and Light Sky Blue-071 (C7) at 6 grams (13 metres/14 yards) each. Combined total: 62 grams (132.2 metres/143.5 yards).
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
  • Scissors.
  • Stitch markers (optional).

The designer notes that blocking is essential to even out the stitches and keep the triangle edges straight.

The pattern was tested by Mirjam Annaars, Alexxa Owen and Patricia Thomas, and it first appeared in March 2024 with an update in June 2024. If you enjoy seasonal garlands, also see our related guide: Crochet Bat Appliqué Pattern - Make Bat Bunting for Halloween: Pattern Overview.
